A proud Berber from the Oriental High Atlas, Driss’s journey began with a deep commitment to his family and community. “I’ve always wanted to uplift the lives around me,” he shares, and this dedication led him to pursue a career as a mountaineering guide.
In 2002, Driss earned his certification at the Mountain Training Center in the High Central Atlas. Since then, he has spent over two decades mastering his craft and sharing his passion for Morocco's breathtaking landscapes. His defining moment came in 2005 when he was featured in the National Geographic Magazine article “Among the Berbers.” Reflecting on this milestone, he says, “That experience opened my world and inspired me to open it to others.”

Marhaba in Morocco, our team will pick you up from the airport in a private car. We'll escort you to your hotel, allowing you to settle in and unwind after your journey. Later in the day, you'll have the opportunity to meet the rest of the group and our team, getting acquainted with fellow travelers. To kick off your Moroccan adventure, we'll take an evening stroll to soak in the local atmosphere and savor a dinner at a charming spot.

On this day, we depart from Marrakech in the morning. Our journey takes us through the landscapes of the High Atlas Mountains.
As we ascend, we'll make a stop in Demnat, a town central to the High Atlas, to soak in the local culture. Then, you will visit the small village of Iminifri. Here, you'll witness a natural wonder: a natural bridge spanning a rocky gorge, offering a glimpse into Morocco's geological marvels.
Continuing our journey, we'll wind through the rugged terrain, offering raw nature views at every turn. Finally, we'll arrive at a mountain riad in Aït Boualli, where rustic meets the rugged beauty of the High Atlas. At night, savor a delicious dinner, your first taste of the mountain flavors that await you.

Awaken in Aït Boualli, after breakfast, we set out on our journey. Our destination: the Tafenfant Plateau.
As we drive, the landscapes transform around us, offering glimpses of Morocco's natural beauty. Along the way, we'll pause for lunch, traditionally prepared by our local cook.
After two hours of walking through landscapes, the trail descends to the charming Aït Said village. Finally, you'll reach the tranquil Arouss village, your lodge destination for the night, situated at 1750 meters (5741 feet) above sea level. Here, you can unwind in comfort, savoring the cozy atmosphere of your accommodation.
Prepare for a day of trekking with a total duration of 6 to 7 hours, featuring challenging terrain in the morning and a more moderate path in the afternoon

Today starts with a journey into history. You'll begin by ascending to the ancient Sidi Moussa collective granary, a fortified Kasbah that once safeguarded not only wheat and corn but also invaluable documents—an embodiment of an ancient bank.
Afterward, you'll reach your lunch spot before embarking on an ascent to Igoudamen, perched at 2300 meters (7545 feet) above sea level. The descent takes you to the welcoming Aït Imi village, where you'll spend the night in a lodge and savor a traditional dinner. This day of adventure combines 5 to 6 hours of trekking, with easy daytime walk and moderate climb to reach the Sidi Moussa granary.

When lunchtime arrives, our cook will craft a delicious meal. As you ascend from 1800 meters (5905 feet) to 2300 meters (7546 feet), take a pause near a refreshing spring.
The journey then leads you back to the same lodge, where dinner and a peaceful night's rest await.
Prepare for a day of trekking with a total duration of 4 to 5 hours, featuring moderate terrain. This day encapsulates the essence of exploration, adventure and cultural exchange.

As the day progresses, we make our way down to the plain of El Haouz, where traditional Berber villages dot the landscape. By afternoon, we arrive back in vibrant Marrakech, with your traditional Riad accommodation.
